Behaviour change is an important aspect of healthcare, as many health problems are caused or exacerbated by unhealthy behaviours. For example, smoking, lack of exercise, and poor diet can all lead to chronic diseases like heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. Doctors and nurses play a key role in helping patients make positive changes to their behaviour, and one important skill in this regard is person-centred communication.
