18What is the ICE agreement / Partnership
ICE is the result of a joint venture between PRS for Music, STIM and GEMA with the collective aim of developing the world’s first integrated music copyright, licensing and processing hub, encouraging copyright data accuracy, aggregation of repertoires for multi-territory licences and the elimination of parallel processing against incompatible works databases.
ICE brings a unique offering to customers, not currently met elsewhere. It offers a flexible suite of services and has been developed from best-in-class technologies that will deliver unparalleled economies of scale, speed, efficiency, accuracy and business intelligence reporting. It is the fruition of a partnership that harnesses years of combined experience in collective management and servicing, which has shaped the digital market from the outset.
The benefits will be wide reaching, offering solutions to all rightsholders. The economies of scale and increased efficiencies will also deliver cost saving benefits to all. The hub offers a potential transformative benefit to new and smaller music repertoires as inclusion into the Core licence enables the potential for greater access to Digital Service Providers (DSPs).

19Youtube - What can you do to ensure that your receive your royalties from PRS
What type of music uses does the deal cover?
The deal covers PRS for Music controlled repertoire contained in videos streamed via YouTube across 130 territories. This covers a range of music uses including music videos, lyric videos, fan-uploaded videos, vlogs, concert videos TV-style content that has music in the background and YouTube’s new subscription services, YouTube Music and YouTube Music Premium.
Will I get paid for every single stream on YouTube?
Due to the very high volume of tracks streamed, many of which have been streamed only a few times, and the relatively low value per stream, it is not possible to make distributions where a video using music has been played only a few times. We will also need to rely on the usage data provided by YouTube.
Initially, we will identify music in videos with over 2,000 streams or at least $2 in revenue value. Distributions will be made in accordance with our distribution policy. -

21Twitch & Streaming
By ‘live streaming’, we mean when music is played live by a performer to an audience via an online platform.
By ‘streaming’ we mean the broader term for when music is played on demand online by an audience at any point but isn’t necessarily being played live. Streaming services include Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music and YouTube.
The following online platforms capable of live streaming are licensed and managed by our partner ICE:Facebook
Instagram (owned by Facebook)
YouTube
TWITCH (Amazon)
If you’re a writer member, this means you might be eligible for royalties if your music is played online on these platforms, including via live streaming.

22Mechanical Splits
A share split explains how the royalties will be distributed between all interested parties. As an example, imagine a work has two writers, A and B, and is published by C. PRS and MCPS will assume, unless otherwise advised, that A and B have agreed to share the royalties equally, giving them 25 percent each and C, the remaining 50 percent.
When you register a work with us, you add your agreed share for performance if you're a PRS member, and mechanical royalties if you're a member of MCPS. Your co-writer will then add their share. So if this work was to be registered today, both A and B would need to register the song individually and add their 25 percent at the point of registration.

23MCPS Partnership
PRS and MCPS
PRS for Music is the home of the Performing Right Society (PRS) and the Mechanical-Copyright Protection Society (MCPS).
PRS pay royalties to our members when their works are:
broadcast on TV or radio
performed or played in public, whether live or through a recording
streamed or downloaded
MCPS pay royalties to their members when their music is:
copied as physical products, such as CDs and DVDs
streamed or downloaded
used in TV, film or radio
In some cases, money is collected jointly then split between PRS and MCPS.

Dodge & Fuski, These guys are on the button. Since the beginning of 2011, the dubstep and drumstep duo racked up over 3 million views on Youtube and been championed by Radio 1, 1 Xtra, and the world’s leading YouTube dubstep channel UKF.
I posed a simple question, Keep it Indie or seek a label?
Rob opts for label support, But it's important to note not exclusivity!
